Asbestos Surveying
Types 1, 2 and 3 surveys and sample analysis
Amstech has an independent, impartial Asbestos Surveying Department specialising in carrying out Asbestos Surveys and Sampling.
Under the Control of Asbestos at Work Regulations 2006, Regulation 4, Landlords or those responsible for all non domestic buildings, are required to have an Asbestos Management Plan in place.
Our Surveying Department is also fully UKAS Accredited
Amstech has been commissioned by Clients ranging from Councils, Health Authorities, Aviation Authorities, Housing Associations and other Commercial Enterprises to produce an Asbestos Register to form the basis of their Asbestos Management Plan.
All of our surveyors have extensive experience within the Asbestos Industry and hold BOHS P402 accreditation as a minimum.
All of the samples taken of suspected asbestos materials are analysed in a UKAS accredited Laboratory.
Whether you require a:
- Type I (Walk Through Presumptive Survey)
- Type II (Sampling Survey) - normally used as the basis of an Asbestos Management Plan and often referred to as an Asbestos Register. This type of Asbestos Survey / Report is also normally adopted by prospective purchasers of property.
- Type III (Intrusive Survey) - An in depth survey where the fabric of the building may be broken into to identify any hidden asbestos. Carried out prior to major refurbishment or demolition works.

Amstech Surveying Department also offer:
- Contaminated Land Site Investigations ( Phase I – desktop & Phase II – intrusive )
- Design and management of remediation and land restoration schemes ( Phase III ), due diligence investigations and environmental audits.
We undertake site investigations to BS 10175: 2001 and Environment Agency guidelines using appropriate Source-Pathway-Receptor risk assessment models. All Samples are analysed in a UKAS accredited Laboratory.
